Description
With fallen arches (pes planovalgus), the longitudinal arch of the foot flattens and the ankle tilts inward. This is often the result of a tendon condition or an injury. Besides weak ligaments and muscles, fallen arches can also be caused by a congenital malformation. Common complaints include pain on the inside of the sole, at the ankle and the ankle joint, as well as overloaded ligaments and tendons. All of this can lead to knee, back and disc problems.
